WTF International Referee Appointments will be announced soon

Dear WTF International Referees:

On behalf of the IOFTC Board, a special invitation is extended to you to submit your application to officiate the 12th International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championships.  The first and second tournaments were held in Nepal in 2000 and 2002.  In 2004, the third tournament was in Portland, Oregon USA.  Thereafter, the past 11 events have been around the world, including Hong Kong, India and London, UK; alternating in Portland.  The last tournament was hosted in Portland, Oregon USA in 2016.

Our VIP Guest at the October 2016 11th event -- Mr. Keshab Bista, Member Secretary of the National Sports Council in Nepal, requested that the 12th IOFTC event be hosted in Nepal.  He was extremely impressed with the professionalism exhibited by the Organizing Committee members & event volunteers, and the expertise and friendliness of participants & officials.

The success of this competition depends upon our support as referees.  Your skill and expertise will insure a quality event, as evidenced at the last event in Portland, Oregon USA in 2016.

The Organizing Committee in Nepal will provide WTF International Referees lodging-double occupancy to be shared with an appointed referee for 3 nights (December 31, 2017, January 1 & 2, 2018) in Ithari; local transportation to and from the airport for IRs flying into Kathmandu, Tribhuvan Airport (KTM) and to and from the venue; and meals. There will be a Mandatory Referee Meeting and Dinner on December 31 from 6 – 8 PM at the venue in Ithari. Payment of $100 per diem will be provided to WTF International Referees for the 2-day event on January 1 and 2.  All Referees will receive a special appreciation gift.

ALL Referees from outside Nepal, must arrive in Kathmandu by Friday, December 29 in advance of the group travel on Saturday December 30 by private bus to the venue. The Organizing Committee is arranging group transportation leaving the Kathmandu lodging area Saturday, December 30 at 9 AM for approximately a 6-hour ride with sightseeing along the way, to the venue in Ithari. The return to Kathmandu from the venue is at 9 AM Wednesday, January 3. Another option is available if you prefer to book & pay for a (40 minute) flight to and from Kathmandu and the Biratnagar Airport near Ithari.  PLEASE ADVISE if you take this option so the Organizing Committee can arrange transportation for your 20-minute ride from the airport to the venue.

In addition, for WTF International Referees flying into Nepal, the Organizing Committee in Nepal will provide additional hotel accommodations for 3 additional nights (December 29, 30 & January 3) -double occupancy to be shared with an appointed referee; local transportation to and from the airport & to and from the venue; and meals.
